Types of Data involved from Business Perspective:

There are two kinds of Data Business deals with :

Master Data
Transaction Data

Master Data : Which is consistent for longer Time

Transaction Data : Which Frequently getting change

MDM:

MDM means Master Data Management , which is used for store master data in a single place and sync master data across to all systems who were using in the business landscape.

Mostly PI is used as middleware component to integrate MDM with all other systems.

MDM System Architecture :

MDM Basically have 3 Operations :

Data Extraction
Data Syndication
Data Management

Data Extraction:

Extraction is nothing but import the master data from external systems into MDM database / repository.
Import Server / Import manager tool is taking care of this activities in MDM
Data Extraction can be done either Full Load Extraction / Delta Load Extraction.

Data Extraction – ( MDM Import Manager Tool) :

Data Syndication:

Syndication is nothing but sending data to external system from MDM system.
Syndication Server / Syndicator tool is taking care of this activities in MDM

Data Extraction – ( MDM Syndicator Tool) :

Data Management :

It is totally related to data that how we will manage data with in MDM.
Data Manager tool is taking care of this activities in MDM

Create a Third-party Business and Technical System for MDM in SLD

Import the MDM Business Software Component into ESR

MDM software components contains inbuilt ESR solution for some master data for example Vendor/Customer/Material/Bank etc.
We can re-use them in our project interfaces, which reduces the development time.
If Project requirements have some enhancement, then we can download the existing maps and do the necessary changes and import them back to ESR.
